Pure Quality: Gold for Quan Zhou in TLPT $25K International

China's Quan Zhou has come out on top of a 34-entry field in The Lord Poker Tour $25K International to take home add $332,250 to his lifetime earnings. Zhou will remain fourth on China's All Time Money List, although the six-figure score – amazingly, not even qualifying inside his top ten results – will take him within striking distance of reaching US$10M, according to his HendonMob.

Quan Zhou with Trophy

The 40yr old professional has a resume most would be envious of, including a seven-figure score for a 5th place finish in the Triton Poker SHR Monte Carlo just last year. Other notable results include two WPT titles (in the WPT World Championship $10K PLO and WPT Korea NL 2-7 SD), a 2023 EPT Cyprus Mystery Bounty title, a Triton Poker SHR Jeju $25K PLO win, and a 2017 PokerStars Championship Macau title. Just a couple of months ago, Zhou added a PGT Super High Roller Bowl title to his accolades. Other non-win accomplishments include 4th in the WSOP Paradise $100K SHR, a runner-up finish in WPT Alpha8 One Drop Korea, and a runner-up finish in the Triton Poker SHR Monte Carlo $20K PLO just a week after his Main Event final table in the same series.

Quan Zhou Playing

Fan favourite Yoon Kang took the chip lead through the bubble in the event, utilising some world class bluffs along with ICM pressure plays. When Zhou rivered a straight flush to take control in the latter stages, Kang fell behind and was unable to recover from the five-to-one chip deficit upon reaching heads up. Kang— who has made headlines throughout the week for both good and bad reasons – pulled through for the crowd, turning his $25K entry earned from bubbling last year into $183,000.
